Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train: Arabian Sea, Tides, Wind, Clouds, Fishing Nets and River Waves This is not a holiday destination but the design of the four stations of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project has been included. Last week, News18 visited the Bandra-Kurla Complex site in Mumbai, where the only underground station for the bullet train will be built.

The design of Bandra-Kurla Complex i.e. BKC station is inspired by clouds. Apart from this, the tides of the Arabian Sea with diamond-like points are also included in the design of the station. This station will be next to the world’s largest diamond exchange ‘Bharat Diamond Bourse’. Speaking to News18, Sushma Gaur, Additional General Manager, Public Relations, National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL), said that each station has been designed keeping in mind the culture around it. He said that while designing we considered the culture surrounding the station. As for Thane station, he said that since it is close to the Ulhas river, the roof of the station and the walls of the entrance gate will create a ripple effect. He said, it is a special station. Passengers will see the front of the station in the shape of a wave while approaching the station. (Photo News18)

Also, Vira is located on the hill and everything is designed in the same way. The station at Veera is located on a hill and will therefore reflect the wind from the hills, while the project’s last station in Maharashtra is a part of the coastal region of Boisa, inhabited by ‘Konkani’ whose main occupation is fishing. Sushma Gaur said, in front of the station there is a picture of the fishing net used by these fishermen. (Photo News18)

Mumbai (BKC), Thane, Virar and Boisa will have four stations in Maharashtra under the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project. Whereas Gujarat will have eight stations at Vapi, Bilimora, Surat, Bharuch, Vadodara, Anand, Ahmedabad and Sabarmati. Among these stations only BKC will be an underground station. It will have three floors. The station will have two entry and exit gates. (Photo News18)
